Vendor & Consignment Policy
Welcome to Minna no Petit Sekai! We offer dedicated space for makers, curators, and other independent brands to showcase their work in our London store. Please ensure to read through and review our operational policies and the specific terms below before applying.
To apply please fill out our application form here.
Local Vendors (UK Based)
For local artists, makers, and brands, we operate on a hybrid rental and commission model.
Rental Tiers & Fees (Local)
Rental fees must be paid in full upfront before your lease begins. We offer a 10% discount on the total rental fee for leases of 3 months or more.
-
Small: £80 per month (Option to choose a small shelf or dedicated space on our clothing rail).
-
Medium: £160 per month (Medium shelf space).
-
Large: £240 per month (Large shelf space).
-
Bespoke: Custom pricing tailored to specific spatial requirements or unique brand activations.
Note: The number of items you can stock is strictly limited and must remain proportional to your chosen tier. We will provide specific item limits upon application approval.
Commission & Payouts (Local)
-
Commission:
In addition to the upfront rental fee, the store retains a flat 20% commission on every item sold.
-
Payouts:
Sales are tracked meticulously through our POS system. Payouts for sold items (minus our 20% commission) are processed electronically and transferred directly to your nominated UK bank account within 5-10 business days of the end of the month.
General Store Policies (Applicable to All Vendors)
Inventory, Shipping & Restocking
-
Arrival:
All inventory must arrive at our shop at least one week (7 days) before your lease starts. You may drop items off at the shop free of charge, or ship them to us at your own expense.
-
Itemised Lists:
You must provide a comprehensive, itemised inventory list alongside your stock delivery so we can accurately load your items into our POS system.
-
Restocking:
If your stock runs low during an active lease, you are welcome to provide top-up inventory. Simply drop off or ship the additional items (covering any shipping costs), and our staff will manage the restocking on the shop floor.
Theft, Loss, Faults & Breakages
-
Theft and Shrinkage:
To deter shoplifting we will operate a 24-hour CCTV system. While we treat your inventory with the utmost care and will always do our best to help investigate and make things right where possible, the shop ultimately cannot accept financial liability in the event of shoplifting or unexplainable inventory shrinkage. All goods are stocked at the vendor's own risk.
-
Faults and Returns:
If a customer returns a faulty or broken item in accordance with UK consumer law, the cost of the refund will be passed back to the vendor and deducted from the month's payout - including any additional fees incurred by payment platforms etc.
Rental Fee Review
We review our rental fees and commission rates on a regular basis, with any changes coming into effect the following month. Vendors with an ongoing long-term lease will be exempt from the immediate change and will continue to pay their previous rate until their current lease expires. We will provide at least 4 weeks' written notice to all vendors before any new pricing applies to them.
Early Termination
We hope every partnership is a perfect, long-term fit for Petit Sekai - however, we understand that circumstances can change.
-
Vendor-Initiated:
If you need to end your lease before your agreed term is up, we require at least 14 days' written notice. If your total agreed rental period is one month or less, the upfront rental fee is non-refundable. If you have booked a space for longer than one month and provide the required 14 days' notice, we will issue a pro-rata refund for the remaining full weeks or months of your lease.
-
Store-Initiated:
We reserve the right to end a lease early if the terms of this agreement are breached (such as failing to provide inventory on time, supplying items that do not meet our quality standards, or including prohibited items). If we decide to terminate the agreement early for any reason we will provide you with 7 days' notice and a pro-rated refund for the remaining duration of your lease. We will endeavour to work with you where possible before resorting to termination.
In all instances of early termination, our standard 7-day collection window and 30-day abandoned goods policies strictly apply from the revised end date of the lease.
End of Lease & Uncollected Goods
When your contract ends, you have 7-days to collect your unsold items from the shop.
If items are not collected within this 7-day window, we will arrange to ship them back to you at your expense. If the shipping invoice is not paid and the goods remain uncollected for 30 days after the end of your lease, the items will be legally classified as abandoned. At this point, the shop assumes ownership of the abandoned goods, and they will be donated to a charity of our choosing [specify the charity].
Prohibited Items & IP Indemnity
To ensure a safe environment for our community, we have strict guidelines on what can be sold in the shop. We do not accept the following:
-
Food, drink, or any perishable goods
-
Alcohol or other age-restricted products
-
Hazardous goods, materials, or chemicals
-
Medication or regulated health products
-
Weapons or dangerous objects
-
Counterfeit goods, bootlegs, or any items that infringe upon third-party intellectual property (IP) or copyrights.
By stocking your items with us, you confirm that all products are your original work or that you hold the legal right to sell them. You agree to fully indemnify and hold the shop not accountable against any legal claims, damages, costs, or fines arising from copyright, trademark, or IP infringement related to your inventory.
If you are unsure whether your products fall into any of these categories, please contact us at admin@petitsekai.com for clarification before submitting your application.
Store Curation & Merchandising
To create a beautiful, cohesive experience for our customers, we carefully curate our space to ensure all pieces align with our shop’s kawaii aesthetic and quality standards. Because our focus is on independently made apparel, fashion, and accessories, our team lovingly takes care of all the visual merchandising.
We handle the placement and styling of all goods within the shop to keep the space looking magical. However, if you have your own suitably sized display cases or racks that fit the vibe, please let us know; we are happy to incorporate them where possible! Otherwise, you don't have to worry about a thing - just sit back and let us make your wonderful items shine!
Social Media & Marketing
We love showing off the incredible independent makers and brands in our shop! As a benefit to partnering with us, all vendors will be featured on our store’s social media channels at no additional cost.
By stocking your items with us, you consent to our team photographing and promoting your products, brand name, and social handles across our digital platforms to help drive excitement, footfall, and sales for your wonderful creations.
If you have any additional questions, please contact admin@petitsekai.com - or reach out to us via Instagram. We look forward to stocking your items at our shop!
